Full description

Join Fjord Nature on an exciting trip to witness one of the most dramatic fjords in Norway! This tour takes you on a kayaking spree in and around Geirangerfjord to experience unmatchable views from the seat of a kayak! This fjord is 260 meters deep, 15 km long and is now a UNESCO Heritage-listed site. Here you will find magnificent mountains rising from the water with spectacular waterfalls cutting through them. Participants have to report at Fjord Nature’s basecamp in Hellesylt, where the trip begins on a typical tour day. A local-known guide will brief the group about safety and kayaking techniques worth knowing for the tour. At 10:00 am, all participants will embark on a journey downstream the beautiful Hellesylt waterfall towards the fjord. It will take around 3 hours to reach the fjord, and in the meanwhile, you will be paddling through the peaceful waters amidst lofty mountains. Your guide will tell you about the popular attractions and the typical wildlife in this area. One of the eye-catching sites through this leg of the tour is the Fosskråa waterfall that can be seen cascading on the mountains into the fjord. Once the group reaches Geirangerfjord, there will be several stops to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. This would be an excellent time to grab your camera and capture the breathtaking scenery! Along the sides of the islet, you will find abandoned farms like Knivsflå, Skageflå, and Blomberg that display glimpses of the Nordic life here. If you thought this fjord tour is all about mountains and farms, wait till you pass by the waterfalls de Syv Søstre (also known as the seven sisters) and Friaren, the wooer! They run opposite each other, and legend has it, the wooer is constantly trying to grab the attention of the seven sisters! Would you believe that one of the waterfalls in this area is called the Bridal Veil! This is Brudesløret, delicately pouring over a sharp edge with stunning views against the sun like a thin veil over the rocks! Now that is a scene worth witnessing in a lifetime! Paddlers get to choose between single and tandem kayaks for this tour that welcomes people of all levels of experience. The kayaks are stable and safe, but swimming ability is a must for this activity.
