The thrill of pedalling across beautiful winter roads with a group is simply next level! You can experience this when you book Viking Biking’s Public Bike Tour during the winter. To add to the excitement, your bikes will be fitted with spiked winter tyres! The bike adventure will include must-see places in Oslo, a stop at a café or restaurant for refreshments, and stops at various other venues that showcase the best of Oslo’s winter scene.

On a typical tour day, the group will assemble at least ten minutes before the journey. Your guide will brief you about the route to be taken for the day. There are no specific routes followed for this trip due to ever-changing weather conditions. However, most trips will include the following stops:

1.Opera House: Spend time at this contemporary art centre dedicated to music and performing arts, overlooking the stunning Oslofjord.

2.The Akerselva River trail: Cycling here will give you access to the most picturesque sceneries in the city. There will also be a stop at a street decked with impressive street murals.

3.Mathallen, Oslo Street Food, or Vippa – a visit to one of these indoor food markets.

4.Several waterfalls – The sound of freezing crystal-clear water from high mountain tops is an experience in itself!

5.Places known for 19th-century industrial architecture.

The borough of Grünerløkka which is known for its pulsating nightlife.

6.The port areas of Aker Brygge and Tjuvholmen with excellent dining and entertainment options.

The City Hall where Nobel Peace Prize ceremonies are conducted.

7. Karl Johans Gate: Venture into the holiday season by buying goodies from Oslo’s main Christmas market situated here.

You will have a lot of opportunities to snap pictures and to take breaks along your way. There is so much to learn about the city during this trip as your experienced local guide will give you titbits about the city, related to Norwegian folklore, traditions, culture, and even current politics.

All safety measures will be implemented to ensure you have a safe and relaxed ride across the city on varying terrains. You don’t need any specific fitness level to sign up for this bike trip. Beginners and experts are welcome!
