Welcome to  Stavanger

Discover iconic rock formations, an assortment of museums, and exquisite Norwegian cuisine when you visit one of Norway's oldest cities – Stavanger.

Stavanger

Stavanger is the fourth largest city in Norway and has some of the most iconic tourist attractions. Also called Oljebyen or the oil capital, Stavanger became popular in the 70s when oil was discovered here. Though you have lots of high-rise buildings and international organisations based here, the natural landscapes are well-preserved and breathtakingly beautiful! From deep, blue fjords and towering cliffs to white sandy beaches, there is so much to explore here. You could even walk across quaint streets and find a string of museums in the city centre – a great addition for those looking for family-friendly tours. If you’re looking for a dose of adrenaline, combine a fjord cruise and a hiking trip to explore soaring peaks and cliffs!
